Royal A-ware has bought the company from the Spanish investor Abac Capital for an undisclosed sum.

SPAIN – Royal A-ware, a Dutch dairy business, has acquired Global Dairy Ventures (GDV), a Spanish distributor from its private-equity owners.
According to a statement today from Royal A-ware, GDV, based in Barcelona, connects European producers of premium cheese and dairy products with customers in retail and foodservice.
With this acquisition, Royal A-ware strengthens its market position in Southern Europe and further expands its product portfolio, which supplies a range of dairy products.
Some of GDV’s key customers include Iberconseil, Disalp and Adonis covering markets such as Spain, Portugal and Italy.
“The acquisition of GDV strengthens our market position in Southern Europe and enables us to offer customers an even more comprehensive product portfolio,” Antonio Rodriguez, the CEO of family-owned Royal A-ware, said.
Royal A-ware said it expects to complete the deal in the coming weeks. The Dutch company produces cheese, butter, yogurt, quark, cream and milk powders, among other dairy products.
Christophe Roux, the CEO of GDV, added: “We are delighted to join Royal A-ware, a leading dairy producer, and to leverage its scale, expertise and in-depth knowledge of the sector to achieve our goal: connecting European premium dairy producers with the demanding needs of our customers.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside Abac Capital throughout this journey, and we look forward to the next phase of our development as part of the Royal A-ware family.”
Amul expands footprint with launch of fresh milk in Spain
In 2025, Amul collaborated with COVAP (Cooperativa Ganadera del Valle de los Pedroches) to introduce fresh milk in Spain, expanding its product offerings.
The launch, which took place at the Embassy of India in Madrid, marked the beginning of Amul’s expansion into Spain and beyond.
This collaboration combines COVAP’s advanced dairy technology with Amul’s globally recognised quality, ensuring Spanish consumers receive high-quality, farm-fresh milk.
The rollout began in Madrid and Barcelona, with plans to expand to Malaga, Valencia, Seville, and Lisbon, Portugal.
Amul’s Managing Director, Jayen Mehta, said “This association will ensure all our Spanish consumers will be nourished and energised with the goodness of Amul Milk. This is the first time that Amul fresh milk is being launched in Europe.”
Additionally, COVAP President, Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the partnership allows both cooperatives to grow their brands while supporting dairy farmers in both nations.
