Lactalis Canada inaugurates US$11.85M milk receiving bay at its Ontario facility

CANADA – Lactalis Canada has opened its new milk-receiving bay at its Winchester, Ontario facility, increasing its milk-receiving capacity by 25%.

The 180,000 ft² state-of-the-art facility will receive up to two million litres of milk per day – an increase of approximately 25%. It has four truck bays and three independent milk receiving systems.

Lactalis Canada is proud to officially open a new state‑of‑the‑art milk receiving bay at our Winchester, Ontario cheese processing facility. This new facility will increase our ability to receive and process milk and in turn, increase production capacity and support the continued growth of the site,” said Mark Taylor, President & CEO, Lactalis Canada.

“This latest infrastructure investment at over $16 million reinforces our Winchester plant’s position as the largest cheese manufacturing plant in Canada and its role as critical hub in the Canadian dairy landscape.”

In recent years, Lactalis Canada has made significant investments in its Winchester, Ontario facility to support operations.

These include an award-winning US$13.0 million (C$18-million) wastewater treatment plant completed in 2020, the construction of a new private roadway in 2021 to divert milk truck traffic away from the town core, and major infrastructure upgrades, such as a new refrigeration plant and a boiler plant.

In 2026 alone, the company is investing US$30.34 million (C$42 million) at the site, including the US$11.85 million (C$16.4 million) new milk-receiving bay.

Additionally, the company announced the launch of iÖGO nanö Bubbles, a first-of-its-kind offering in the kids yoghurt category featuring playful, mouth-bursting bubble texture in a creamy & smooth yoghurt in a 100g cup.

Made with 100% Canadian milk, real fruit and no artificial colours, flavours, or sweeteners, iÖGO nanö Bubbles introduces an innovative snacking option for kids aged 6-12 inspired by the rising popularity of bubble tea style textures among a younger generation of Canadians – both youth and parents.

Providing a source of Vitamin D and Calcium, the offering includes three delicious flavours: Orange Cream with Mango Bubbles, Mixed Berries with Strawberry Bubbles, and Banana with Mango Bubbles.

iÖGO nanö Bubbles is the latest offering from iÖGO made to meet the needs of everyage category including iÖGO, iÖGO nanö drinkable yogurt, and iÖGO frozen yogurtproducts. iÖGO nanö Bubbles is available at most major retailers across the country.
