RWANDA – Masaka Farms has experienced a fire incident at its production facility, following a fire at a neighbouring warehouse, causing significant damage.

According to the company, the Rwanda Fire Brigade, the Rwanda National Police, and the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) coordinated and led the professional response that brought the fire to an end and prevented even greater loss.

As a result of this incident, the company’s operations and the availability of Masaka Farms products will be temporarily affected over the coming weeks.

Additionally, the company stated that before this incident, they had begun preparations to transition into a larger production facility to support its continued growth.

Founded in 2016, Masaka Farms is one of Rwanda’s leading dairy and food manufacturers, committed to producing high-quality, nutritious products that are accessible to families across the country.

The company is recognised for its pioneering commitment to disability inclusion, with a majority-Deaf workforce, and for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Through innovation, quality, and a customer-first approach, Masaka Farms continues to deliver trusted dairy and food products while creating meaningful social impact in the communities it serves.

Innovation has always been key for the company. In 2025, the company launched its much-anticipated cream cheese in Kigali, bringing a new culinary delight to local shops.

The announcement made on April 16, 2025, marked a significant expansion of the company’s product line, offering residents a versatile and flavorful addition to their meals.

According to the company, the cream cheese is now available in various retail outlets across the city, catering to breakfast, lunch, and snack preferences.

In June, 2025, it introduced its first-ever non-dairy offerings, Eggless Lemon Mayonnaise and Eggless Cocktail Mayonnaise.

According to the company, the Eggless Lemon Mayonnaise boasts a refreshing citrus twist, making it a perfect complement to salads, sandwiches, and dips.

Meanwhile, the Eggless Cocktail Mayonnaise offers a rich and creamy texture with a blend of savoury flavours, ideal for enhancing burgers, wraps, and snacks.
