The launch comes as Masaka Creamery continues to grow its footprint in Rwanda’s dairy market.

RWANDA – Masaka Farms, a leading dairy producer in Rwanda, has officially launched its much-anticipated cream cheese in Kigali, bringing a new culinary delight to local shops.

The announcement made on April 16, 2025, marked a significant expansion of the company’s product line, offering residents a versatile and flavorful addition to their meals.

According to the company, the cream cheese is now available in various retail outlets across the city, catering to breakfast, lunch, and snack preferences.

Masaka Creamery Limited, established in 2015 and based in the Kigali Special Economic Zone in Masoro, is renowned for its high-quality dairy products under the Masaka Farms and Bonjour! brands.

The company produces a wide range of products, including yogurt, fermented milk, fresh cream, butter, ghee, mascarpone, and cheese.

The introduction of cream cheese aligns with Masaka’s mission to deliver beloved products with a commitment to quality and community impact.

“We’re thrilled to bring this creamy, tasty delight to Kigali,” said a Masaka Farms. “It’s perfect for sandwiches, snacks, or breakfast spreads, and we believe it will become a household favorite.”

The launch comes as Masaka Creamery continues to grow its footprint in Rwanda’s dairy market.

Masaka has invested in advanced processing equipment, supported by a US$280,000 grant from USAID in 2018, which enhanced production capacity and enabled the development of new products like sour cream and thick yogurt.

These efforts have strengthened Masaka’s distribution network, reaching districts such as Nyagatare, Rubavu, and Huye, and now bringing cream cheese to Kigali’s shelves.

Masaka Creamery’s focus on quality is evident in its certifications from the Rwanda Standards Board, Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority, and HACCP, ensuring safe and high-standard products.

“Our cream cheese reflects our dedication to excellence,” stated a company representative. “We source milk from over 2,000 local farmers, supporting their livelihoods while delivering a product that meets international standards.”

The company’s inclusive employment practices, with 60% of its workforce being persons with disabilities, further underscore its social impact.
