As part of the global Lactalis Group, the company continues to align its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts with key sustainability goals.

UK – Lactalis UK & Ireland, a dairy manufacturer, has launched its latest sustainability progress update 2025, highlighting the steps it has taken to build a more sustainable future.
As part of the global Lactalis Group, the company continues to align its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts with key sustainability goals, including reducing carbon emissions, promoting animal welfare, and advancing a circular economy.
One of the most significant aspects of the update is Lactalis UK & Ireland’s Net Zero Roadmap, which outlines its strategy to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2050.
It commits that 73.8% of its suppliers and customers by emissions will have science-based targets by 2028.
This covers purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and processing of sold products.
The company has made substantial progress in minimizing its environmental footprint, working closely with suppliers, farmers, and trade bodies to implement best practices in sustainable dairy farming.
Animal welfare remains a priority for Lactalis UK & Ireland. The company has strengthened partnerships with dairy farmers to ensure high standards in livestock care, focusing on ethical treatment, improved living conditions, and sustainable farming practices. These efforts align with the broader industry push toward responsible dairy production.
Additionally, the company has also expanded its efforts in packaging innovation, aiming to reduce plastic waste and improve recyclability across its product range.
It is investing in eco-friendly materials and exploring ways to enhance the sustainability of its packaging while maintaining product quality and safety.
“We’ll keep reducing the amount of packaging in our portfolio, provide recyclable solutions and roll out more on-pack recycling labelling across all our Lactalis and Lactalis Nestlé Chilled Dairy brands to manage packaging waste.
“We’ll also continue to work with our suppliers to find innovative packaging solutions that minimise environmental impact,” the company stated.
Beyond environmental initiatives, the company reported that it remains committed to supporting local communities, fostering employee development, and promoting responsible marketing practices.
The company recognizes that sustainability is not just about reducing impact but also about creating a positive social and economic contribution.
