Its robust nature makes it ideal for dairy processors and manufacturers of plant-based beverages, where accuracy, speed, and reliability are critical to maintaining quality and meeting regulatory standards.

GERMANY – Bruker Corporation, an analytical instrumentation and diagnostics company, has launched the MOVE-T, a Fourier Transform Near-Infrared (FT-NIR) analyzer for liquid dairy products, designed to elevate quality control standards in the dairy industry.
MOVE-T utilizes FT-NIR technology to deliver precise, rapid analysis of raw milk and other liquid dairy products, ensuring superior product consistency.
Its robust nature makes it ideal for dairy processors and manufacturers of plant-based beverages, where accuracy, speed, and reliability are critical to maintaining quality and meeting regulatory standards.
The integration of FT-NIR technology with a wear-free quartz cell ensures high sensitivity, specificity, and transferability, allowing for seamless transferability of analytical methods across instruments and locations, making the analyzer a valuable asset for modern dairy laboratories and processing.
The system complies with ISO 21543 (IDF 201), ensuring traceability and reliability in routine quality control. By streamlining workflows and reducing reliance on wet chemistry, MOVE-T helps producers gain real-time insights while minimizing costs and environmental impact.
Commenting on the development, Katharina Baumgartner, Dairy Laboratory Specialist and long-time user of FT-NIR technology for milk analysis instruments at GOLDSTEIG Cheese Factories Bayerwald GmbH, expressed excitement and highlighted the strong transferability of methods.
“We are thrilled with the new MOVE-T. The compact and integrated design seamlessly fits into our workflow. The transferability of methods is exceptionally good, as are the results for our key products in quality control. We are very excited about the market launch of the MOVE-T,” she said.
Dr. Jörg-Peter Conzen, Vice-President of Bruker Optics, further affirmed the company’s intention to help customers achieve great efficiency and product consistensy.
“The MOVE-T reflects our dedication and our commitment to innovation and analytical excellence. By providing the dairy industry with cutting-edge NIR technology, we are helping our customers achieve greater efficiency and product consistency. This launch completes our proven portfolio of dairy FT-NIR analyzers for lab and process control,” Dr. Jörg-Peter said.
This commitment to innovation is grounded in the powerful capabilities of FT-NIR technology, which serves as the foundation of Bruker’s dairy analysis solutions.
Benefits of FT-NIR Technology
The FT-NIR (Fourier Transform Near-Infrared) technology is a rapid, non-destructive analytical technique used to identify and analyze materials, measuring the absorption of near-infrared light by a sample, which provides information about the sample’s molecular vibration.
Most spectroscopic techniques are faster and more accurate than wet chemistry. Still, FT-NIR spectroscopy has several additional advantages that make it particularly useful for routine analysis in quality control (QC) laboratories and process control.
FT-NIR streamlines analysis routines in the lab and online. It is often able to analyze many different parameters with just one measurement and without any sample preparation, saving labour and money.
It does not require sample preparation, and is ideal for heterogeneous material as the NIR light not only analyzes the surface, but penetrates deeper into the material.
In addition, FT systems (compared to dispersive spectrometers) offer the possibility of continuously rotating the sample during analysis, allowing for a larger sample volume to be recorded compared to a single, static measurement. This makes the result more representative and leads to greater accuracy.
Unlike traditional methods, FT-NIR analyzers like MOVE-T deliver measurement results in as little as 10 to 60 seconds.
They also eliminate the need for chemical reagents, gases, or waste disposal, making them not only time-efficient but also environmentally sustainable and cost-effective.
With the launch of MOVE-T, Bruker continues to redefine the standards for dairy analysis, providing processors with the tools to maintain quality, reduce costs, and stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.
