Fairlife breaks ground on its US$650M facility

USA – The Fairlife Company has broken ground on a US$ 650 million project to expand its facility in Coopersville, Michigan.

The Expansion will add two new production lines, 245,000 square feet to existing facility and approximately 200 new full-time jobs.

The expansion project is expected to be completed in early 2028. The company is also in the final stages of completing a new fairlife production facility in upstate New York. Other fairlife production facilities are located in Arizona, New Mexico and Ontario, Canada.

“Our Coopersville plant has long been a powerhouse for the fairlife business, and this investment represents our largest expansion of the facility to date and our commitment to continuing to grow in Michigan by adding approximately 200 full-time jobs,” said Becca Kerr, fairlife CEO.

“The expansion will allow us to bring in an additional four million pounds of milk from Michigan dairy suppliers each day and significantly increase capacity and availability of fairlife products.”

Fairlife was launched in 2012 with the belief that milk and its natural health benefits can be made even better.

The company leverages ultra-filtration to create great-tasting products that nourish consumers and fit into their modern lifestyles.

With approximately US$4 billion in annual retail sales, fairlife offers a wide range of products including fairlife® ultra-filtered milk, Core Power® protein shakes, and fairlife® Nutrition Plan® shakes.

The announcement followed the Michigan Strategic Fund Board’s approval of a US$17 million grant to fund regional water system improvements, as well as US$3.9 million “Alternative State Essential Services Assessment” abatement for the Fairlife project.

Jennifer Owens, the President of Regional Economic Development Agency Lakeshore Advantage, said in a statement that the expansion builds momentum for the Lakeshore’s growing agribusiness and food production industry cluster.

Additionally, the company is also set to inaugurate its state-of-the-art Fairlife production facility in Webster, N.Y., this year.

Announced in 2023, the company selected Webster, New York as its preferred location for a new Fairlife production facility as part of the brand’s continued expansion in the Northeast market.
