Danone completes its acquisition of Huel expanding its portfolio in functional nutrition

Huel was consolidated in Danone’s financial statements from September 1, 2026.

UK – Danone has completed its acquisition of Huel, a leading player in complete, nutritionally balanced meal solutions in the UK.

By combining Huel’s direct-to-consumer and community engagement capabilities with Danone’s scale and global reach, more consumers will have access to nutritionally complete, convenient, sustainable food.

The acquisition forms part of Danone’s Renew Danone strategy, aimed at strengthening its position in functional nutrition while expanding into nutritionally balanced meal solutions. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Huel has established a strong presence in the complete nutrition segment, offering a portfolio of nutritionally balanced products including ready-to-drink beverages and powdered meal solutions.

The brand has built its footprint across the UK, Europe and the United States, supported by a digital-first business model and a significant direct-to-consumer customer base.

By integrating Huel into its portfolio, Danone plans to combine the brand’s digital capabilities and product innovation with its own global scale, nutritional expertise and international distribution network.

The companies said the combination is expected to accelerate growth, support new product development and enable further international expansion of Huel’s offerings.

Antoine de Saint-Affrique, Danone SA Chief Executive Officer said: “Today we are happy to officially welcome Huel to the Danone family. Together, we will unlock and fuel new opportunities for growth by extending the reach of Huel’s market-leading products with our global scale and scientific credibility. The unique expertise they bring in the field of consumer and community engagement will also further strengthen our capabilities.”
