Sangram Chaudhari has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the federation.

INDIA – Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) Managing Director Jayen Mehta has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of the newly constituted Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation (SPCDF), headquartered in Gandhinagar.
Both appointments have received formal approval from the Office of the Cooperative Election Authority under the Union Ministry of Cooperation. Earlier, the elections to the Board of Directors were also completed unanimously without contest.
The Board of SPCDF comprises one representative each of GCMMF and 10 Member Unions of GCMMF, along with three representatives of cooperative milk societies from Assam, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
Launched by Amit Shah, SPCDF has been envisioned as a national platform to replicate the success of the Amul model across the country. The federation has been established with an initial capital base of Rs 200 crore and aims to connect more than 20 lakh dairy farmers across 20 states.
Inspired by the cooperative vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the federation seeks to strengthen dairy cooperative networks beyond Gujarat by ensuring fair pricing, democratic participation, value addition, and sustainable growth for millions of farmers.
The initiative is expected to play a key role in advancing the government’s vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi.”
Recently, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), which markets dairy brand Amul, achieved a major milestone with its brand turnover crossing $12 billion (Rs 1 lakh crore) in the financial year 2025-2026.
Sales stood at US$7.93 billion (Rs 73,450 crore), up 11.4% from US$7.11 billion (Rs 65,911 crore) in 2024-25. With this growth, GCMMF continues to maintain its standing as India’s largest FMCG organisation.
The expansion has been driven by a diversified portfolio of over 1,200 product packs, an extensive distribution network, and the ability to adapt to changing consumer preferences.
“Crossing the Rs 1 lakh crore brand turnover is a testament to the trust of millions of consumers and the tireless hard work of our 36 lakh dairy farmers,” said GCMMF chairman Ashok Chaudhary.
Amul was ranked the world’s No 1 cooperative by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). During the year, the brand also stepped up its global presence by launching fresh milk in markets such as Europe and the USA.
