Solico Group opens US$35.4M SoFood production facility in Jafza

The new facility positions SoFood as a key innovation and manufacturing hub for the GCC, with a production capacity of 40 tons per day.

UAE – Solico Group has inaugurated SoFood, a state-of-the-art production facility valued at US$35.4 million (AED 130 million) in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), marking the company’s largest investment in the UAE to date.

Equipped with advanced European technologies, the facility has been designed for scalable, multi-category production, significantly enhancing Solico’s capabilities across protein, dairy and other value-added food solutions.

The investment is expected to strengthen regional food security, support export-ready manufacturing and respond to growing demand for high-quality food products in regional and international markets.

Strategically located within the Jebel Ali ecosystem, SoFood benefits from seamless connectivity to global logistics corridors, enabling Solico Group to efficiently serve more than three billion consumers across nearby markets.

The development also aligns with the UAE’s broader industrial growth ambitions, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading hub for advanced manufacturing and food innovation.

TGI Group’s Nutridor inaugurates cutting-edge dairy production facility in UAE

In 2023, Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group, a Nigerian conglomerate inaugurated a state-of-the-art dairy production facility in Dubai Industrial City expanding its footprint into the global market.

The subsidiary, Nutridor Limited, aims to produce more than 120,000 litres of liquid dairy daily, marking the first such facility commissioned by a Nigerian business subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The factory, established under the UAE’s ‘Foreign Investment Liberalization Scheme,’ will focus on clean energy and zero waste practices, incorporating advanced technology, sustainability initiatives, and local value addition.

TGI with operations spanning 13 countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, has been a prominent player in various sectors, including food and beverage production, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and banking for over four decades.

According to the company, the inauguration of Nutridor’s dairy production facility marks another milestone in the conglomerate’s global expansion.
