Azelis brings BEWITAL agri’s rumen-protected amino acids to UK

Recently, the company introduced BEWITAL agri’s BEWI-FATRIX range of rumen-protected amino acids to the UK and Ireland, offering dairy producers a research-backed tool to boost milk yields, improve protein efficiency, and reduce nitrogen excretion.

Developed in Germany by BEWITAL agri, the BEWI-FATRIX products use advanced cryotechnology to protect essential amino acids such as lysine and methionine from rumen degradation.

This ensures that they reach the small intestine, where they can be effectively absorbed and utilised by the animal.

The BEWI-FATRIX technology embeds amino acids evenly in a fat matrix, derived from either palm oil or the more sustainable rapeseed oil, rather than relying on conventional fat coatings. This process improves stability and intestinal digestibility.

Trials by Schothorst Feed Research demonstrated a rumen bypass rate of 86.4% for BEWI-FATRIX® Methionine, with 88% intestinal availability and 77.4% bioavailability.
