KENYA – Bio Foods, a dairy manufacturer, has introduced its latest milk collection & service center, reinforcing its commitment to building a more inclusive and sustainable dairy ecosystem in Kenya.
The initiative is designed to foster collaboration among farmers, processors, and strategic partners, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and shared value.
Through this new facility, the company aims to implement quality-based pricing that rewards excellence in milk production, reduce input costs for farmers, and promote long-term sustainability across the value chain.
The center is the result of a multi-stakeholder effort involving Bles Dairies, Unga Group PLC, DigiFarm, African Bioenergy Program Limited, Kenya Dairy Board, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nairobi.

The facility follows the company’s reaffirmation of its mission to ensure everyone has access to safe and healthy food, now and in the future.
According to company statements, this commitment is being realized through targeted efforts to support smallholder dairy farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
The company emphasizes several strategic goals: enhancing the profitability and productivity of smallholder farmers, deepening partnerships with dairy farms, and implementing Quality-Based Milk Pricing (QBMP) systems.
As reported by Bio Food Products Ltd, QBMP ensures farmers receive fair compensation for higher quality milk, incentivizing best practices in milk production.
Recently, Bio Food Products Ltd spent days engaging with farmers and cooperatives in Nakuru and Trans Nzoia. The visit highlighted progress made toward increasing high-quality milk production while reducing costs and minimizing environmental impacts.
The company expressed gratitude for its partnerships with organizations such as Lato Milk, Amit Sagar, Margaret Rugut Kibogy, and Bles Dairies. These collaborations are key in driving sustainable and profitable dairy farming practices across Kenya.
The company also shared significant outcomes from a year-long partnership with the Mumberes Dairy Cooperative.
According to Bio Food Products Ltd, milk production per cow has doubled, bacterial counts in the milk have decreased by 87%, and the quality-based price per liter has increased by 44%.
These improvements underscore the benefits of focused interventions and the dedication of cooperative members.
