DSA Lab Services joins the ranks of globally recognized laboratories committed to upholding the highest standards in food safety and regulatory compliance

SOUTH AFRICA – The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) has awarded Dairy Standard Agency (DSA) Lab Services with a formal accreditation for the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories, ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

This milestone achievement strengthens our collective commitment to scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and food safety assurance within the South African Dairy Industry.

This accreditation validates the DSA Laboratory’s technical competence, impartiality, and reliability in the field of compositional analysis of milk and dairy products.

It affirms the DSA Laboratory as a trusted partner in safeguarding the quality and integrity of dairy products consumed daily by millions of South Africans.

For the dairy industry, the implications are far-reaching. The accreditation enhances the credibility of testing outcomes, offering independent assurance of laboratory competence.

This instills greater confidence among regulators, producers, processors, retailers, and consumers alike. Producers and processors, in particular, benefit from accurate, independently verified test results that strengthen their compliance and quality assurance systems.

Moreover, the accreditation supports alignment with South African legislation and international trade requirements, bolstering the reputation of South African dairy exports.

It also plays a vital role in consumer protection, ensuring that the nutritional quality and safety of milk and dairy products meet stringent global benchmarks.

The scope of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation (No. T1129) includes critical parameters such as protein, fat, lactose, total solids, freezing point, and somatic cell count.

Each of these components is essential in determining the quality and safety of dairy products, and their accurate measurement is now assured through internationally recognized standards.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the DSA Lab Services team. Their commitment to excellence ensures that every test result contributes to a safer, more transparent dairy value chain.

The Dairy Standard Agency extended its gratitude to all stakeholders for their continued support and reaffirms its mission to advance food safety, product quality, and sustainability across South Africa’s dairy industry.
