dsm-firmenich expands with Feed Additive Plant to combat mycotoxin challenges

The facility strengthens dsm-firmenich’s position as a key innovation partner for both Indian agriculture and the broader Asia-Pacific animal nutrition market, delivering value-added solutions for a changing climate and evolving consumer demand.

INDIA – dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) has inaugurated its first feed additive manufacturing plant in India, a landmark step aligned with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and aimed at enhancing food safety and livestock productivity across the Asia Pacific.

Located in Jadcherla, Telangana, the new plant features a manufacturing line dedicated to mycotoxin risk management solutions and includes a modern warehouse spanning a total area of 11,200 square metres.

The facility stands adjacent to dsm-firmenich’s existing premix plant (operational since 2018), forming a fully integrated “Super Site” for feed innovation and supply efficiency.

The facility uses advanced Bühler technology and adheres to global benchmarks in quality, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring high-performance solutions for Indian farmers and feed producers.

Lu Yuan, Vice President, Greater APAC, Animal Nutrition & Health at dsm-firmenich, said, “This new plant is a strategic milestone for dsm-firmenich ANH in Greater APAC — our first feed additive plant in India, and a powerful step forward in serving our customers with speed, efficiency, and innovation.

“By producing Mycofix locally in India, we enhance our ability to serve customers across the Asia Pacific region, supporting our growth strategy and meeting growing demand. This is our vision in action: customer at the heart, sustainability in our DNA, and leading through innovation for the future of animal farming.”

Mycotoxin contamination—driven by climate change and poor post-harvest practices—has become a growing concern for the Indian dairy and livestock sector.

The plant will locally produce Mycofix Secure and Mycofix Shield, two proprietary solutions that help neutralise a wide range of mycotoxins commonly found in feed. These products play a crucial role in protecting animal health, ensuring feed safety, and enhancing farm productivity.

Puneet Pokhriyal, Director OU West, Animal Nutrition & Health at dsm-firmenich, said, “This new plant brings us closer to our customers and strategic partners in India. We are proud to serve our customers with feed additives made in India that meet the highest international standards in quality and safety.”
