NDDB’s Mansinh Institute hosts training on dairy sector

The initiative not only fostered professional development but also contributed to the broader goal of strengthening India’s dairy sector through innovation.

INDIA – The Mansinh Institute of Training, an arm of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), has organized a comprehensive five-day training programme aimed at enhancing marketing capabilities within India’s dairy sector.

The programme brought together participants from Visakha Milk Producer Company and Pali Milk Union, aiming to strengthen their marketing expertise in the evolving dairy sector.

Throughout the training, participants engaged with a wide array of topics critical to the evolving dairy landscape.

Sessions focused on understanding consumer expectations, estimating market potential, managing booth channels, and navigating emerging marketing trends.

Special emphasis was placed on developing robust systems for customer complaint resolution, an increasingly vital component in maintaining consumer trust and loyalty.

Participants also explored the “8Ps of Marketing,” go-to-market strategies, processes for launching and relaunching products, sales and distribution of value-added dairy products, and efficient supply chain management.

Brand-building principles and the essential elements of branding were discussed in depth, equipping attendees with actionable strategies to enhance their organisations’ market presence.

As part of the programme, participants visited the renowned Banas Dairy and Dudhsagar Dairy plants. These visits offered valuable insights into large-scale dairy operations and provided opportunities to interact with senior officials, exchange experiences, and gain practical knowledge.

NDDB expands dairy initiatives to boost productivity

Additionally, the NDDB, led by its Chairman Dr. Meenesh C Shah, has been intensifying efforts to strengthen India’s dairy sector through infrastructure development, technological advancements, and strategic collaborations.

In recent high-level engagements, NDDB outlined its initiatives aimed at transforming dairy farming into a sustainable economic engine for rural communities while advancing India’s standing in the global dairy market.

During a meeting with Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Dr. Shah highlighted the NDDB’s targeted interventions in Maharashtra, particularly in the Vidarbha-Marathwada region.

As reported by NDDB, these efforts include the formation of Milk Producer Organisations, the development of a milk processing facility in Nagpur by Mother Dairy, and manure management initiatives promoting compressed biogas (CBG) bikes for veterinarians.

Dr. Shah emphasized the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition’s ‘Gift Milk’ program, supported by HUDCO, which aims to improve nutrition in tribal communities.

Shri Gadkari commended NDDB’s progress, stressing the role of dairying as a key driver of economic empowerment and sustainable development for farmers in the region.
