Its score rose to 84 out of 100 in 2024, an increase of 10 points on the previous year.

SWITZERLAND – Tetra Pak, a global leader in food processing and packaging solutions, has achieved the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum rating, positioning it among the top 1% of over 130,000 companies assessed worldwide.
The accolade highlights the company’s commitment to embedding sustainability across its operations, reinforcing its mission to protect food, people, and the planet.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates performance in four critical areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
According to Tetra Pak, this recognition underscores its holistic approach to sustainability, driven by collaboration with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
In 2024, the company launched a dedicated Sustainability Excellence team to strengthen processes, systems, and data management, ensuring sustainability is woven into daily operations.
A key pillar of Tetra Pak’s strategy is its supplier engagement program, “Join Us in Protecting the Planet.”
In 2024, this initiative supported 29 suppliers in setting science-based climate targets, contributing to a 15% reduction in emissions from purchased materials compared to a 2019 baseline.
Improved resource allocation and deeper supplier partnerships were instrumental in this achievement.
Additionally, Tetra Pak introduced a new Supplier Code of Conduct, grounded in 15 principles, to enhance environmental and human rights due diligence across its supply chain.
“This milestone reflects the collective resolve at Tetra Pak to lead a sustainability transformation alongside our value chain partners,” said Lars Holmquist, Executive Vice President at Tetra Pak, in a statement.
“The Platinum rating is a testament to our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and long-term sustainability.”
In a recent development, Tetra Pak announced a partnership with a leading dairy group to introduce the world’s first carton package made from certified recycled polymers derived from used beverage cartons.
The innovation, reported in early 2025, aligns with the company’s goal to develop fully recyclable, carbon-neutral packaging using renewable or recycled materials.
The initiative is part of Tetra Pak’s broader vision to drive circularity and reduce environmental impact across the food and beverage sector.
Tetra Pak’s sustainability agenda focuses on five interconnected areas: food systems, climate, nature, circularity, and social sustainability.
By prioritizing renewable materials, enhancing recycling infrastructure, and fostering ethical practices, the company continues to set a benchmark for sustainable packaging.
