This digital initiative is a cornerstone of the ambitious White Revolution 2.0, aiming to bring unprecedented efficiency and transparency to the dairy supply chain.

INDIA – Union Cooperation and Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the nation’s first automated online module for registering dairy cooperative societies aimed at boosting transparency and efficiency.
The inauguration signifies a major leap forward in modernizing the country’s milk collection and distribution networks.
The innovative system, developed by the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), facilitates eMitra-based digital registration for Primary Dairy Cooperative Societies (PDCS).
This streamlined online process is designed to simplify and accelerate the establishment of new cooperatives, crucial for expanding the reach of organized dairy farming across rural India.
Once registered and after initial field checks, these societies will promptly receive a unique code, enabling them to commence vital milk collection activities.
The digital framework incorporates a progressive evolution model for these cooperatives. Upon successfully meeting predefined milk collection targets, PDCSs will automatically be upgraded to full-fledged Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs).
This tiered progression is further enhanced by the potential for these DCSs to evolve into Multi-functional DCSs, allowing them to offer a broader range of services and support to their dairy farmer members, fostering holistic rural development.
RCDF Managing Director Shruti Bhardwaj emphasized the multifaceted benefits of this pioneering digital reform. The initiative is poised to significantly enhance transparency across the cooperative dairy ecosystem, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and promoting fair practices.
Furthermore, it is expected to create substantial new job opportunities within the dairy sector and dramatically improve overall operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting millions of dairy producers.
Recently, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah announced that India will establish three new multi-state cooperative societies for the cooperative dairy sector, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).
He explained that as the country moves towards White Revolution 2.0, its goal should not only be to expand dairy cooperatives and make them efficient and effective, but also to create an ecosystem of dairy that is sustainable and promotes a circular economy.
To transformation from Sustainability to Circularity, he noted that there must be multi-dimensional, with the farmers’ cooperatives stepping up to provide services like technical assistance, feed supply, veterinary care, dung management, and milk processing, traditionally dominated by the private sector.
