Schwarzwaldmilch Group, Käserei Bauhofer partner to expand cheese production

The partnership aims to grow Schwarzwaldmilch’s cheese range and boost overall sales for Bauhofer.

GERMANY – Schwarzwaldmilch Group, a dairy cooperative that produces cheese, has partnered with Käserei Bauhofer to expand the production and sales of cheese products under the Schwarzwaldmilch brand.

The cooperative stated that the partnership encompasses key functional areas, initially concentrating on sales, marketing, and production, particularly the enhancement of existing cheese products and the development of new cheese under the Schwarzwaldmilch brand.

Andreas Schneider, Managing Director of Schwarzwaldmilch, said, “We want to further expand the Schwarzwaldmilch cheese range and increase the overall cheese sales of the Bauhofer cheese dairy through this cooperation.”

Schneider highlighted the need for proactive and sustainable practices in the face of current economic and political developments, emphasising the importance of self-determination and adaptability for future success

Schwarzwaldmilch, which processes 700.000 kg of milk per day between Freiburg and Offenburg, also offers fresh and long-life milk, butter and protein products.

Käserei Bauhofer, headquartered in Bodnegg in the Allgäu region of Württemberg, specialises in cheese,   including Allgäu Emmental.

With a capacity to process around 65,000 kg of milk per day, the family-run company will produce Schwarzwaldmilch’s four existing Black Forest milk cheese products.

Schwarzwaldmilch adopts SIG’s combiMaxx closure

In 2021, Schwarzwaldmilch became the first company to adopt SIG’s combiMaxx closure, an innovative packaging solution designed for greater convenience.

According to SIG, the new wider closure combiMaxx is a solution that takes convenience to a new level, while also ensuring smooth and easy implementation on existing SIG filling lines.

Currently, Schwarzwaldmilch offers combiMaxx on all its dairy products in SIG’s combiblocSlimline 1,000 ml carton packs.

Due to its large opening with a 25 mm inner diameter, the new closure offers optimal product flow, perfect stream controllability and easy handling. Other benefits include a tamper-proof ring and the reassurance of resealable and leak-proof storage.

Andreas Schneider, Managing Director of Schwarzwaldmilch, said, “Meeting the convenience needs of the consumer is important to us. Incorporating SIG’s new combiMaxx closure on our dairy packages offers outstanding performance for consumers, while also strengthening our brand position. Our close cooperation with SIG enables us to take consumer convenience to the next level without the need for a new closure applicator or any major investment.”
