Ingredion named among world’s most ethical companies for 11th time

The announcement highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to ethical practices in an industry where such recognition is rare.

USA – Ingredion, a global leader in supplying ingredients like starches, sweeteners, and pea protein, has earned a spot on Ethisphere’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the eleventh time.

This year’s list, reported by Ethisphere, includes 136 organizations across 19 countries and 44 industries, with Ingredion standing out as one of only nine honorees in the food, beverage, and agriculture sector.

The World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment, conducted through Ethisphere’s Ethics Quotient, evaluates companies based on over 240 proof points.

These cover ethics and compliance programs, governance, a culture of integrity, and efforts to support environmental and social impact.

A panel of experts then reviews the data qualitatively to determine the final recipients.

According to Ethisphere, the rigorous process ensures that only companies with robust ethical foundations are recognized.

Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair, praised Ingredion’s achievement.

“Congratulations to Ingredion for achieving recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies,” she said.

“Behind this honor is a true dedication and a commitment to advancing business integrity. This approach is good for business; employees and other stakeholders value companies that prioritize the kinds of practices we measure with our process.”

Ingredion’s focus on ethics aligns with its innovative work in the food industry.

A report by the company in November revealed that 73% of European consumers seek products with recognizable ingredients, while up to 55% are willing to pay more for natural claims.

In 2024, Ingredion introduced new clean-label citrus fibers to replace costly ingredients like eggs and oils, along with a corn starch texturizer that enhances the stretchiness of vegan cheese.

Last month, the company also partnered with Oobli to incorporate advanced sweeteners into its offerings, further strengthening its portfolio.

Jim Zallie, Ingredion’s president and CEO, expressed pride in the recognition. “We are proud to be named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere in 2025,” he said.

“This honor underscores the unwavering commitment of our global teams who consistently lead with integrity and embed ethics into every aspect of our organization.”

Zallie emphasized that fostering a values-driven culture remains central to Ingredion’s operations, benefiting stakeholders worldwide.

The recognition comes ahead of IFFA 2025, an event focused on shaping the future of the protein industry, where Ingredion’s contributions are likely to draw attention.

With its ethical track record and innovative solutions, the company continues to set a high standard in the global food sector.
