dsm-firmenich names two companies ahead of animal nutrition split

The split separates essential ingredient production from animal nutrition solutions, focusing on vitamin security, feed additives and precision services.

SWITZERLAND – dsm-firmenich has named the two standalone companies that will emerge from the planned divestment of its Animal Nutrition & Health business to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners: Noviwest™, focused on essential ingredients, and Panavora™, focused on animal nutrition and health solutions.

Under the proposed transaction, CVC will acquire the businesses, while dsm-firmenich will retain a 20% equity stake in each.

Completion remains subject to regulatory approvals, employee consultation processes and other transaction conditions.

Noviwest™ will focus on essential ingredients, building on dsm-firmenich’s expertise in vitamins, carotenoids and aroma ingredients.

The company will serve customers in the food, feed, fragrance and pharmaceutical industries, with European vitamin production positioned as part of its strategy to support supply security and resilience in global nutrition value chains.

Silvia Sonneveld, head of the Vitamins Unit at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health and designated CEO of Noviwest™, said the company would continue supplying vitamins, carotenoids and aroma ingredients to customers worldwide.

She highlighted the importance of a strong European manufacturing base for essential vitamins in safeguarding food systems, animal nutrition and human health.

Panavora™ will concentrate on animal nutrition and health, combining premix distribution, feed additives, digital products and precision services to help producers improve animal health, performance and sustainability.

Ivo Lansbergen, president of dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health and designated CEO of Panavora™, said the business would combine nutritional expertise, scientific innovation and precision capabilities to help customers address complex production challenges and deliver measurable results.

He added that data, science and closer collaboration across the value chain would shape the future of animal nutrition.

The two companies are intended to pursue distinct strategies while retaining opportunities to collaborate in selected areas where their capabilities complement one another.

After the transaction is completed, both will operate independently, with separate management and governance structures.

Until then, Animal Nutrition & Health will remain part of dsm-firmenich, with separation preparations continuing alongside existing customer operations.

The divestment agreement, announced on 9 February 2026, provides for the business to be established as two standalone companies: an Essential Products business and a Solutions business.

The newly announced names, Noviwest™ and Panavora™, establish their respective identities ahead of the transaction’s completion.
