The company’s market capitalisation stood at approximately US$1.60 billion (₹15,369.92 crore).

INDIA – Milky Mist Dairy Food Ltd has reported a rise of 10% to US$2.08 (₹199.65) in its shares, rising on August 19, 2026, and hitting the upper circuit on the National Stock Exchange.
The sharp rise came a day after the company’s market debut, when its shares listed at US$1.72 (₹165), significantly above the IPO issue price of US$1.46 (₹140). The latest movement has brought the stock more than 40% above its issue price within its first two trading sessions.
Milky Mist shares opened at US$1.98 (₹190) on August 19 before climbing to US$2.08 (₹199.65), where they hit the 10% upper circuit. The stock had closed at US$1.89 (₹181.50) during its first trading session.
The stock recorded trading volume of around 2.93 crore shares, reflecting significant market activity following its listing.
The company’s 52-week trading range currently stands between US$1.46 (₹140) and US$2.08 (₹199.65), with the latest session taking the stock to a new high.
Milky Mist had already attracted considerable investor attention during its market debut.
The shares opened at US$1.72 (₹165), representing an approximately 18% premium over the US$1.46 (₹140) issue price, before closing the first session at US$1.89 (₹181.50).
The company’s IPO had raised approximately US$162.2 million (₹1,553 crore), with strong demand from investors during the subscription period.
The strong listing and subsequent rise indicate considerable investor interest in the company’s growth prospects and its position within India’s organised dairy industry.
Milky Mist’s market debut comes at a time when India’s dairy industry is increasingly shifting towards value-added dairy products.
Instead of relying solely on liquid milk, consumers are increasingly purchasing products such as paneer, cheese, yogurt, Greek yogurt, butter and ice cream.
Milky Mist has established a significant presence across these categories, positioning itself within one of the faster-growing segments of India’s packaged food and dairy market.
The company’s product portfolio allows it to capture opportunities created by changing consumer preferences, urbanisation and increasing demand for convenient food products.
The capital raised through the IPO is expected to support the company’s growth and expansion plans.
A portion of the fresh issue is intended for financial requirements, including debt repayment and expansion of manufacturing capacity.
The company has also been focusing on strengthening its production infrastructure in Tamil Nadu while expanding its distribution network.
Increasing manufacturing capacity will be important as the company seeks to increase its presence across India’s major consumer markets.
Expanding Beyond Southern India
Milky Mist has traditionally maintained a strong presence in southern India, particularly in its home market of Tamil Nadu.
The company is now looking to expand its reach across other parts of the country.
A wider distribution network could provide the company with access to India’s large and increasingly organised dairy market.
However, expanding into new markets will require continued investment in distribution, cold-chain infrastructure, branding and marketing.
