Royal A-ware, Grupo TGT merge to strengthen their cheese market

NETHERLANDS – Royal A-ware and Grupo TGT have merged, combining their expertise to further strengthen their position in the international cheese market and serve their customers even better.

Grupo TGT is one of the largest cheese producers and cheese distributors in Spain and Portugal, with an extensive distribution network.

This will give Royal A-ware an even stronger position in the Southern European dairy market, whilst Grupo TGT, as an independent organisation within Royal A-ware, will be able to build on Royal A-ware’s international production capacity, innovative strength and supply chain integration.

The merger is subject to approval by the relevant authorities. Following approval, Teodoro Garcia will join the Supervisory Board of Royal A-ware and Royal A-ware will have three shareholder families with a shared long-term commitment to the business. 

Royal A-ware, headquartered in the Dutch town of Lopik, produces dairy products including cheese, butter and yogurt for retail, foodservice and manufacturing customers.

The company, which generated turnover of €4.4bn (US$5 billion) in 2025, has operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and the USA.

Grupo TGT sells more than 100,000 tonnes of cheese a year. The company also supplies retail, foodservice and hospitality clients. The group owns 15 production sites in Spain. Last year, the business booked turnover of €470m.
