
SOUTH AFRICA – Crickley Dairy has unveiled a new Guava-flavoured dairy snack with real fruit pieces, expanding its product offerings.
The new offering features real tropical fruit pieces, signaling a strategic move to prioritize texture and natural ingredients in its competitive snack lineup.
As the product rolls out to major retailers, the Guava Dairy Snack is expected to strengthen Crickley’s market share in the functional snacking category.
This launch reflects a clear industry trajectory where dairy processors are increasingly moving beyond traditional staples—such as plain milk and cream—to embrace sophisticated, value-added products that cater to the evolving palates of modern households.
Founded in 1984 by Ken Clark, Crickley Dairy has established a strong presence in South Africa’s dairy sector, particularly in the Eastern Cape region.
The new product comes after Beverage Company Proprietary Limited (Bevco), a subsidiary of Varun Beverages Limited, signed an agreement to acquire a 100% equity stake in Crickley Dairy Proprietary Limited for US$14.3 million.
Varun Beverages Limited said the acquisition aligns with its strategy to diversify its product portfolio into new categories such as value-added dairy and juice-based beverages.

In 2025, the company unveiled its latest innovations: modified white cheese, low-fat Philamasi and peach & apricot dairy snack range.

Amasi, a fermented milk product deeply rooted in South African culinary tradition, has long been a household staple. With this launch, Crickley modernizes a classic, offering the same rich taste and nutritional benefits in a lower-fat format.
By reducing fat content without compromising flavor or texture, Low Fat Philamasi delivers on both taste and nutritional value, making it suitable for daily consumption across all age groups.
