The Magnum Ice Cream Company trades on the strength of brands including Magnum, Ben & Jerry’s, Wall’s and Cornetto.

NETHERLANDS – The Magnum Ice Cream Company has signed a multi-year partnership with HCLTech to design, build and manage a new IT infrastructure as the ice cream group prepares to operate independently.
HCLTech will deploy its AI Force platform across The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s global digital infrastructure. The work covers design, build and management of systems, with a focus on automation in IT operations.
It operates what it describes as a global fleet of 3 million freezers and sells products in more than 80 countries. The company reported €7.9 billion in revenue in 2024.
The partnership links closely to a change in corporate structure. The Magnum Ice Cream Company referenced its progress “as an independent listed ice cream company” in its statement on the deal.
HCLTech also pointed to work related to the exit from a Transition Service Agreement with Unilever. The companies said this will include establishing a greenfield IT infrastructure.
HCLTech said it will embed AI across The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s digital infrastructure. It said its approach uses predictive analytics and business process observability. It also said it puts user experience at the heart of the operating model.
The companies framed the programme as a shift in the way IT is run, moving from AIOps towards a NoOps operating model. They said this will involve “zero-touch automation” and “agentic solutions for fully autonomous IT operations”.
The deal also places the consumer packaged goods sector at the centre of the rollout. HCLTech positioned the engagement as part of its work in technology-led transformation for CPG companies, with an emphasis on customer experience.
HCLTech said it will use its AI Force platform for the deployment. It did not disclose financial terms or specific delivery milestones.
The company said the modernised foundation will deliver scalable and resilient IT operations globally. It also said it will keep business insights and user experience central to the model.
The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s technology organisation described the work as foundational for its next phase. It linked the partnership to security and the ability to run a future-ready infrastructure.
“As The Magnum Ice Cream Company advances as an independent listed ice cream company, we are infusing intelligence into every layer of our digital foundation. Our partnership with HCLTech is instrumental in building a secure, future-ready infrastructure.
“Together, we are unlocking advanced AI capabilities that will redefine operational excellence and elevate the experiences we deliver,” said Mark O’Brien, Chief Technology Officer, The Magnum Ice Cream Company.
HCLTech operates globally and reported consolidated revenues of USD $14.5 billion for the 12 months ending December 2025. The company said it has more than 226,300 employees across 60 countries and works across sectors including retail and CPG.
HCLTech’s leadership positioned the agreement as part of its work on large-scale change programmes.
“This partnership reinforces HCLTech’s leadership in driving complex, global transformations backed by deep domain expertise. We look forward to contributing to TMICC’s growth vision and strategy with the best of technology and global talent,” said C Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director, HCLTech.
