Betagen unveils plan to build first plant in Vietnam

Founded in 1991, Betagen is for its sterilized drinking yogurt and signature fermented milk products.

VIETNAM – Betagen, a Thai-based dairy brand, has announced plans to build its first manufacturing plant in Vietnam, located in the southern province of Dong Nai, expanding its footprint.

The company recently signed a long-term lease agreement for nearly 35,000 square meters of land in the An Phuoc Industrial Park, valid until 2062. Savills Vietnam has supported Betagen in identifying and selecting a suitable investment site since 2019.

Kitti Sawangarom, CEO of Betagen Vietnam, said the construction of the company’s first plant in Vietnam marks a significant step in its regional expansion and reinforces its long-term commitment to the country.

The An Phuoc Industrial Park, owned and managed by Tin Nghia Corporation, is roughly a 60-minute drive from Ho Chi Minh City and near Long Thanh International Airport, with strong connections to major highways and key seaports.

According to John Campbell, head of industrial services at Savills Vietnam, Dong Nai continues to lead the southern key economic region in industrial development and remains one of the top destinations for newly registered manufacturing FDI.

Betagen’s project, he noted, reflects foreign manufacturers’ confidence in the region’s potential.

Chi Phan, manager of industrial real estate at Savills Vietnam, also expressed strong confidence in Vietnam’s capacity to attract large-scale investors like Betagen.

“Developed infrastructure, competitive supply chains, and a skilled workforce continue to help Vietnam attract global manufacturers, especially in the food and beverage sector,” she emphasized.

Betagen has expanded its presence through exports to Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Laos, and has built a strong foothold in Vietnam.

Betagen Vietnam Co., Ltd., established in 2007 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, focuses on importing and distributing Betagen’s probiotic fermented milk drinks.

In this product segment, Betagen competes with major brands in Vietnam such as Yakult, Vinamilk, TH True Milk, and FrieslandCampina.

Betagen introduces lactose-free, sugar-free probiotic drink

Recently, the company tapped into the high-protein trend with the launch of its newest innovation, Betagen Pro.

This enhanced formula delivers 15g of protein and 30 billion CFUs of live probiotics per 300ml serving, while the 200ml variant offers 10g of protein and 20 billion CFUs, making it a convenient option for daily gut and muscle support.

Betagen Pro (300ml) contains lactose free yoghurt (99.95%) (skimmed milk powder (5.4%), whey protein concentrate (4%), whole milk powder (2%), concentrated whey protein (0.5%)), among others.
