SWITZERLAND – SIG has announced that following an extensive global search, its Board of Directors has appointed Mikko Keto as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Keto joined FLSmidth in 2021 as President of the Mining division prior to becoming Group CEO in 2022.

As CEO, he executed a comprehensive business transformation, including a financial and operational reset, portfolio optimization involving both a major divestment and merger, as well as a global efficiency and cost-reduction program. Mr Keto doubled the value of FLSmidth during his tenure.

Mikko Keto, said: “I am thrilled to be appointed CEO of SIG. The Group has a high-quality business model, with engineering, innovation, and sustainability at its core. I very much look forward to leading the Company into its next chapter and building on its strong foundation.”

SIG Group names Ann-Kristin Erkens as interim CEO

The news follows the appointment of Ann-Kristin Erkens as interim Chief Executive Officer. The decision follows a mutual agreement with former CEO Samuel Sigrist, who stepped down after a 20-year tenure, including 4.5 years as CEO.

Erkens, who will continue her role as chief financial officer, was tasked with steering the company through a transformative phase while the board searches for a permanent CEO.

According to Ola Rollén, chair of the board, the leadership change aligns with a strategic review conducted since the April 2025 annual general meeting.

“We are confident there is potential to accelerate growth and deliver improved performance,” Rollén said in a statement.

“With new leadership, we aim to enhance execution and drive SIG’s next chapter.”

He also noted that“Samuel has made significant contributions to SIG’s results and strategy.
