Inyange launches instant milk powder, strengthening Rwanda’s dairy sector

The product is a spray-dried whole milk powder containing soya lecithin for instant solubility.

RWANDA – Inyange Industries, a dairy manufacturer, has expanded its product line with the launch of its Instant Milk Powder tailored for the retail market.

The new product, which is produced in Rwanda, aims to address key challenges within the local milk value chain, including seasonality and market access for farmers, while offering convenience to consumers.

According to the company, the new product is designed to deliver the same creamy taste and nutrition of fresh milk, with the added benefits of long storage and quick preparation.

Speaking at the event, James Kagaba, Managing Director of Inyange Milk Powder Plant, described the moment as both a celebration of innovation and a response to consumer demand.

”This isn’t just milk powder; it’s the freshness and quality of Rwandan milk made even more convenient. Our goal is to make sure every Rwandan can easily access high-quality milk wherever they are,” he said.

Kagaba highlighted that Inyange’s Nyagatare-based facility now produces up to 50 tonnes of milk powder per day, ensuring consistent supply for both domestic and regional markets.

Our factory is equipped to meet local demand, and as more customers come on board, we’ll keep scaling production, retail buyers and distributors will have differentiated pricing, ensuring competitiveness across the chain,” Kagaba said.

He emphasised that the new product stands out for its purity, freshness, and local origin; crafted from milk produced by Rwandan farmers and processed to the highest international standards.

Inyange Industries, established in 1997 and expanded with a US$27 million state-of-the-art production plant in Masaka, has become a cornerstone of Rwanda’s food processing industry.

From milk and yoghurt to juices and bottled water, the Inyange brand stands for trust, quality, and innovation.

With the new milk powder, Inyange reinforces its mission to deliver nutritious, high-quality products while empowering local farmers and boosting national industry.

The Inyange Instant Whole Milk Powder is now available across Rwanda in 1kg and 500g packs, offering families and individuals a delicious, nutritious, and affordable choice.
