This collaboration marks a major step forward in advancing plant-based beverage innovation and sustainable packaging solutions in the region.

UAE – SIG, a packaging provider, has announced the official signing of a strategic partnership with NÜITREE, which took place at the company’s manufacturing facility in Dubai Investment City.
As part of the partnership, NÜITREE has integrated SIG’s latest XSlim 24 Aseptic filling line, enabling expanded product capabilities and enhanced operational efficiency.
The alliance further strengthens SIG’s footprint in the UAE and reinforces its commitment to supporting regional food and beverage manufacturers with cutting-edge, future-ready technologies.
The collaboration will unlock a wide range of product possibilities for NÜITREE, including: plant-based milks and juices, soups, sauces, and value-added “chunky” blends with fruit pieces and fibers and a variety of convenient 80–200 ml carton formats.
In addition to flexibility, SIG’s aseptic system enables high-speed production, robust food safety standards, and reduced material waste, delivering both performance and sustainability benefits.
This agreement builds on SIG’s ongoing investments in the Middle East, positioning the company as a technology leader in aseptic carton solutions and a trusted partner for brands looking to enter or scale within high-growth categories such as plant-based beverages.
SIG Group names Ann-Kristin Erkens as interim CEO
Recently, the company appointed Ann-Kristin Erkens as interim chief executive officer.
The decision follows a mutual agreement with former CEO Samuel Sigrist, who stepped down after a 20-year tenure, including 4.5 years as CEO.
Erkens, who will continue her role as chief financial officer, is tasked with steering the company through a transformative phase while the board searches for a permanent CEO.
According to Ola Rollén, chair of the board, the leadership change aligns with a strategic review conducted since the April 2025 annual general meeting.
SIG, headquartered in Neuhausen, Switzerland, is renowned for its innovative aseptic cartons, bag-in-box, and spouted pouch solutions, serving the food and beverage industry in over 100 countries.
The company reported revenues of US$3.6 billion in 2024 and holds an AAA ESG rating from MSCI, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.
Erkens’ interim leadership will focus on advancing these initiatives, strengthening SIG’s position in eco-friendly packaging, and expanding its global market presence.
