This recognition underscores KDB’s unwavering commitment to promoting safe, high-quality dairy products and educating stakeholders on best practices across the dairy value chain.

KENYA – The Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) has secured second place in the category of Dissemination of Safety Information on Agricultural Goods at the 2025 Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Mombasa International Trade Fair.
The accolade reflects KDB’s strategic role in advancing food safety standards, particularly through its implementation of the Dairy Produce Safety Regulations and its ongoing engagement with farmers, processors, and consumers.
By leveraging exhibitions like ASK, the Board continues to bridge the gap between policy and practice, empowering communities with knowledge that safeguards public health and strengthens Kenya’s dairy sector.
KDB’s award-winning exhibit showcased its robust public sensitization programs, regulatory frameworks, and consumer outreach efforts aimed at ensuring milk safety and quality nationwide.
Held from September 3rd to 7th in Mombasa, the ASK Trade Fair brought together leading agricultural institutions, innovators, and industry players under the theme “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth”.
Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, officially opened the fair with a keynote address. He praised the dedication of Kenyan farmers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to modernizing agriculture through mechanization, irrigation infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
“Agriculture is not just a sector in Kenya, it is the lifeline of millions of households, the foundation of our food security and a key driver of industrial growth. Today, I commend all our farmers, both in crop production and livestock keeping, for their dedication despite the challenges they face.
“We are aware that unpredictable rainfall patterns have significantly affected planting cycles, harvests and overall farm productivity. The government is addressing these challenges by investing in irrigation infrastructure, promoting climate smart agriculture and providing timely weather information to farmers,” said the President.
With over 300 exhibitors representing sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, banking, education, and hospitality, attendees explored interactive displays, participated in hands-on workshops, and engaged in policy dialogues aimed at strengthening Kenya’s position in regional and global trade.
Agricultural research institutions such as the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) showcased cutting-edge innovations in crop and livestock development.
Financial institutions, including Equity Bank and Cooperative Bank, offered tailored products to support farmers and agripreneurs. Government agencies, NGOs, universities, and private companies all contributed to a rich tapestry of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
