The collection features four new ice cream and sherbet flavors.
USA – Kroger, a retail company, has introduced its latest limited-time ice cream collection, Summer in a Pint, designed to last during the summer season.
The collection features four new ice cream and sherbet flavors: Italian Style Summer Fizz (a blood orange sherbet with candy clusters), Fireside Nights (toasted marshmallow ice cream with s’mores bits and an orange swirl), Sandy Shores (coconut ice cream with sweet and salty pretzel crunch), and Poolside Tan Lines (a blend of vanilla bean, chocolate, and coffee ice creams).
“The Summer in a Pint collection turns iconic summer getaways into can’t-miss freezer aisle finds. The four new flavours are available now at participating Kroger Family of Store locations, only while supplies last,” a Kroger spokesperson said.
Additionally, the retail company will also provide coupons for 92,000 free pints of ice cream, which translates to 1,000 pints for all 92 days of summer.
Kroger’s group Vice President of Centre Store Merchandising stated that customer enthusiasm for last year’s free pint offer had been remarkable.
Building on that excitement, the company aimed to make this summer’s promotion even more special by giving away 92,000 free pints of ice cream. The initiative was designed to allow more customers to celebrate the arrival of summer while enjoying the brand’s new flavours.
The new product launch comes as the global ice cream and frozen yogurt trends indicate a growing demand for indulgence balanced with health-conscious choices, according to a report by Innova’s 360 research.
The report highlights the latest product launches, evolving consumer preferences, and innovative developments in the sector.
The ice cream and frozen yogurt category has experienced a 6% increase in product launches over the past year, driven by a shift towards healthier options.
Reports indicate that 36% of consumers globally prefer limiting unhealthy ingredients in indulgent foods.
As a result, brands have introduced products incorporating natural sweeteners such as stevia and monk fruit extract, as well as those made with fruit pulp and juice concentrates.
These offerings align with the 2024 trend ‘Indulging in Health,’ which reflects the growing consumer interest in balancing indulgence with well-being.
Europe leads the global market in new product introductions, followed by the Asia-Pacific region, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa.
Reports suggest that European consumers increasingly value locally sourced ingredients, with products emphasizing single-origin Belgian chocolate, Italian gelato, and crème fraîche from France gaining popularity.
