Lactalis introduces PRIDE Family milk powder to boost nutrition

This launch marks a significant step in addressing Malaysia’s nutritional gaps.

MALAYSIA – Lactalis, a French multinational dairy company, has launched the PRIDE Family Milk Powder in Malaysia, marking a key milestone in its mission to nurture the future generations through quality, everyday nutrition.

Designed for family consumption, PRIDE Family Milk Powder is an affordable and versatile choice that seamlessly integrates into daily life.

According to the company, the product has a rich, creamy taste and is an easy-to-dissolve formula, even in cold water, making it versatile for drinking, cooking, and baking. It contains calcium, Vitamin D, proteins, Vitamins A, B2, D and E.

In Malaysia, bone health is an increasing concern across all age groups. From children who need strong foundations for growth, to adults maintaining active lifestyles, and seniors preserving mobility, strong bones matter at every stage of life.

Research has shown that 94% of boys and 97% of girls do not meet daily calcium needs, and vitamin D deficiency is widespread, especially among women, reducing calcium absorption by up to 80% and 15.3% of Malaysians and 1 in 3 seniors (32.6%) suffer from osteoporosis.

Paul Cazes, General Manager of Lactalis Malaysia, said, “At Lactalis, nourishing families isn’t just our mission, it’s our legacy and our responsibility. As the world’s leading dairy company, we believe dairy plays a vital role in supporting growth, health, and overall well-being – not just today, but for generations to come.”

He stated that dairy consumption in Malaysia remains relatively low, with limited availability of high-quality dairy options and explained that the company’s presence in the country is driven by a commitment to bringing the benefits of dairy to families nationwide.

Emphasising their belief in universal access to premium dairy products regardless of background, Paul highlighted the company’s role as a global leader and expert in the field.

He further noted their dedication to fostering a responsible future by delivering the highest quality dairy products aimed at supporting growth and well-being for all.

The new launch comes as the milk powder market in Malaysia is expected to reach USD 3.69 billion by 2027, with a 5.5% volume growth in 2023.

Malaysia’s milk powder imports are projected to grow at an annual rate of 1.6% from 2021 to 2026, increasing from 137.7 million kilograms to 151 million kilograms.
