Moyo’s leadership is seen as a critical step forward in achieving sustainable growth
SOUTH AFRICA – Nyaladzi Moyo has been named the new commercial director for Danone Southern Africa, a move announced by the company and effective from March 1, 2025.
According to the company, Moyo brings a wealth of experience to the role, stepping into a key position at the dairy giant known for its focus on innovative food solutions.
Moyo, fondly called “Nyala” by colleagues, joins Danone with an extensive background in the commercial sector.
He previously held the position of sales director at Beiersdorf Southern Africa, where he managed a team of 48 employees.
During his tenure, he drove impressive annual net sales and introduced significant improvements in areas like in-store execution and revenue growth management.
His efforts also enhanced sales team capabilities, earning him recognition as a strong leader.
According to Hendrik Born, general manager at Danone Southern Africa, Moyo’s appointment is a strategic fit for the company.
“Nyaladzi is a strong match for our brand and our people. I am confident that his expertise and leadership will prove to be invaluable as we continue to advance our commercial strategy and growth within South Africa,” Born said.
The general manager emphasized Moyo’s ability to contribute to the company’s goals in a competitive market.
Moyo’s academic credentials bolster his professional achievements. He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, awarded with Merit, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Commercial Law and Management from Nelson Mandela University.
With over 13 years of experience, Moyo has worked in notable roles at Procter & Gamble in both Canada and South Africa, sharpening his skills in market strategy and category sales.
Speaking about his new role, Moyo noted. “I am truly excited to join a team dedicated to developing meaningful and sustainable food solutions for South Africans.”
“My goal is to leverage my skills and expertise to drive and strengthen our key growth initiatives while actively supporting the team in collaborative efforts to achieve our shared vision of success,” he said.
