This technology is designed for the aseptic filling of beverages and liquid foods containing pieces of fruit and vegetables or cereal grains into cartons using SIG’s standard beverage filling machines.

CHILE – Soprole, Chile’s dairy company, has launched a new stirred yogurt with rolled oats, the first product of its kind in the country commercially available in aseptic cartons, using SIG Drinksplus technology.
The addition of SIG Drinksplus expands Soprole’s innovation capabilities by enabling the development of attractive multisensory products containing ingredients in small pieces, such as oats, fruits, cereals, vegetables and seeds, in aseptic cardboard packaging that preserves the quality and safety of the product.
SIG Drinksplus is based on SIG’s open sleeve filling system and seals the container above the fill level. This technology prevents fragments from becoming trapped in the sealing area, increasing product safety and expanding the possibilities for aseptically filling a wider variety of products in cartons.
The use of agitators in the filling machine allows for filling products with particles that settle or float. Furthermore, special valves have been implemented to prevent fragments from blocking the product flow.
The technology enables the aseptic filling of products where fragments can represent up to 10% of the contents, with sizes up to 6 mm.
This innovation allows Soprole to expand its product portfolio and respond to the growing consumer demand for products that combine nutrition, convenience, and new consumption experiences.
Rodrigo Cubillos, Marketing Manager at Soprole: “Innovation is at the heart of Soprole’s strategy, and this launch reflects our commitment to developing products that deliver added value to consumers. Through our partnership with SIG and the implementation of SIG Drinksplus, we can now offer a differentiated product that combines nutrition, convenience, and a new consumption experience, while also becoming the first company in Chile to use this technology.”
In 2025, Soprole became the first company in South America to install the SIG XSlim 24 Aseptic for filling SIG XSlimBloc cartons.
The system allows filling nine different container sizes on a single machine: 80, 90, 100, 110, 125, 150, 160, 180, and 200 ml. The naming of these machines and formats is aligned with the current nomenclature of the SIG portfolio.
This is the only aseptic carton filling line capable of filling such a wide range of small formats on a single machine, giving Soprole the flexibility to accelerate innovation and bring new products to market quickly.
Currently, the company uses the line for the aseptic filling of products such as Yoghito Mini (75 g), Yoghito (115 g), Cultured Milk (170 ml), Soprole Protein (170 ml), and Uno (80 ml).
The new blended yogurt with oat pieces in aseptic cartons is the first commercial product launched in Chile using SIG Drinksplus technology. This technology opens new opportunities for innovation in the dairy, functional beverage, and liquid food categories.
It allows manufacturers to incorporate real oat pieces that provide texture and nutritional benefits, while also responding to growing consumer demand for healthier, more convenient, and value-added products.
With this launch, SIG and Soprole further strengthen their alliance and continue to expand innovation opportunities in the Chilean food and beverage market.
The combination of the flexibility of SIG XSlim 24 Aseptic and the unique capabilities of SIG Drinksplus technology will enable the development of new product categories and, at the same time, help manufacturers respond more quickly to evolving consumer trends, without compromising the quality, efficiency, or sustainability advantages of aseptic carton packaging.
