JAPAN – Megmilk Snow Brand has announced that in H1 FY2026, net sales increased to US$986.6 million (155.1 billion yen), a 1.8% increase year on year, mainly due to strong performance from cheese, yogurt and dessert.
Operating profit increased US$1.27 million (0.2 billion yen) year on year, or 5.8%, to US$22.9 million (3.6 billion yen) a result of price increases implemented in the summer of the previous year.
Ordinary profit was US$25.4 million (4.0 billion yen) due to a decline in dividend income as a result of the sales of cross-shareholdings.
Profit attributable to owners of parent increased to US$92.2 million (14.5 billion yen), in part due to the recognition of extraordinary profit associated with the sale of the former Tokyo head office.
Butter sales declined 3.6% this period, after a surge in last-minute demand ahead of price increases and replacement demand due to competitor stock outages in the previous fiscal year.
Sales of margarine fell 6%, reflecting sluggish demand in the overall market. However, cheese sales increased by 2.1%, with 6P Cheese and Sakeru Cheese performing strongly.
Sakeru Cheese in particular performed well from the end of the previous fiscal year, recording a double-digit year-on-year increase.
