The Business Excellence Awards are designed to honour companies that demonstrate outstanding performance, leadership, and impact in their sectors.
Following the success of the 2025 edition, which attracted significant participation across a wide range of sectors, the Business Excellence Awards 2026 strengthened its position as one of Uganda’s leading consumer-driven and research-backed recognition platforms.
In 2025, the company was recognized as the Dairy Processing Company of the Year 2025 at the prestigious 13th Visionaries of Uganda Awards, underscoring its leadership in innovation, quality, and contribution to strengthening Uganda’s dairy sector.
The award ceremony celebrated organizations that have demonstrated excellence in advancing national development goals.
For Lato Milk, the recognition reflects not only its commitment to producing high-quality dairy products but also its broader mission of nourishing a healthier, stronger Uganda.

Over the years, Lato Milk has invested heavily in modern processing facilities, farmer partnerships, and product innovation, positioning itself as a key player in Uganda’s dairy industry.
The company was founded in 2009 in Mbarara, Uganda, and began commercial production of whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder in 25Kg bulk packaging in 2013.
The brand’s portfolio is wide and diverse. It includes fresh milk, powdered milk, yogurt, butter, and long-life milk.
Each product is crafted to meet international standards, ensuring consumers enjoy safe, nutritious, and affordable dairy every day. Lato has also invested heavily in fortified milk, designed to improve nutrition for children and families.
