Glacier Products Limited invests in new ice cream facility

KENYA – Glacier Products Limited has unveiled its largest Tilisi Dairyland ice cream manufacturing plant in East and Central Africa to expand its market presence.

Backed by expanded manufacturing capacity, advanced technology, new infrastructure, and strengthened distribution capabilities, the facility provides the foundation to meet growing demand, improve operations, and create more room for innovation.

Additionally, the investment will help the company compete regionally, with products reaching markets including Nigeria and Seychelles.

The company noted, “It means greater capacity to manufacture locally, stronger systems to get our products where they need to be, and the ability to build on 47 years of expertise with an even bigger regional vision. From Kenya to the rest of Africa, Tilisi gives us the platform to grow our footprint, reach new consumers and create happiness across borders.”

The company recently introduced Blackish Peppermint Chocolate Ice Cream to the Kenyan market, positioning it as a premium innovation designed to strengthen partnerships across retail, hospitality, and distribution channels.

The launch followed last November’s limited‑edition rollout, which successfully tested consumer appetite for bold, design‑driven frozen desserts.

Founded in 1979, Dairyland began its journey with ice cream and has since expanded its product range to include chocolates, yogurts, chocolate spreads, topping sauces, and various catering items. 

From classic flavours to real fruit vibes and indulgent deluxe options, the brand has taken its product presentation to new heights while preserving its signature taste.

Innovation has remained at the core, enabling the company to transform achievements into sustained growth and new opportunities.

In 2025, the company unveiled a fresh look for its ice cream tubs, blending innovation and flair. 

The transformation, which the company describes as a “glow-up,” promises not only a visual upgrade but an enhanced experience in both looks and flavor.
