The new flavors are bubblegum, banana, blueberry, and vanilla ice cream.

ZIMBABWE – Cortina Dairy Produce Zimbabwe, a brand under Kefalos Cheese, has introduced four new ice cream flavors in its Shamiso line, expanding its product line.
The launch underscores Cortina’s commitment to product diversification and innovation, aligning with evolving consumer preferences and the growing demand for premium dairy experiences across Africa.
Cortina’s latest product development reflects a broader industry trend toward value-added dairy innovation, where flavor variety and packaging aesthetics play a key role in consumer engagement.
Kefalos Food is a Zimbabwean brand, established in the 1960s, and has grown into one of the region’s most trusted dairy producers.
The company’s portfolio includes cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, milk products, cream, butter, spreads, and dairy beverages.

Local dairy companies in Zimbabwe collaborate to recycle carton packages
Moreover, Kefalos Cheese has been at the forefront of championing recyclability. In 2024, together with other local dairy processors and the Dairy Processors Association of Zimbabwe, it joined forces to launch a groundbreaking recycling pact to address carton waste.
The pact, in partnership with Tetra Pak and marking the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, aims to recycle up to 1,000 tonnes of carton waste annually at peak capacity.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce also applauded the project, citing its consistency with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and its potential to generate employment opportunities.
Tetra Pak representatives reiterated the importance of collaboration in achieving a circular economy, emphasizing a target of recycling at least 40% of carton packaging waste.
“This is the starting point; now is the time we need to work together and boost the circular economy. We don’t want packages in the streets, we don’t want packages in a landfill, we want to collect and recycle and turn it into something else.”
