Arla Foods Bangladesh launches DANO Lacto Reduced Filled Milk Powder

The product reflects Arla’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative, consumer-centric nutrition tailored to the needs of Bangladeshi families.

BANGLADESH – Arla Foods Bangladesh has officially launched DANO Lacto Reduced Filled Milk Powder, a new dairy solution for people who have difficulty digesting milk due to lactose intolerance.

DANO Lacto Reduced is the first lactose-reduced filled milk powder in Bangladesh, creating a new category in the country’s dairy market.

Unlike conventional milk powder, it is specially formulated for individuals with lactose intolerance, enabling them to enjoy the nutritional benefits of milk without the digestive discomfort often associated with lactose.

The product reduces lactose content from approximately 36% to just 3% and contains lactase enzymes, which help break down lactose and support easier digestion.

At the same time, it retains the essential nutrients found in milk, making it a nutritious option for daily consumption.

Speaking at the launch, Laurent Ponty, Managing Director of Arla Foods Bangladesh, said: “At Arla, innovation starts with societal needs. DANO Lacto Reduced addresses digestive challenges while retaining essential nutrition. It reflects our commitment to inclusive and accessible dairy nutrition in Bangladesh.”

DANO Lacto Reduced is suitable for children aged five years and above, adults, and elderly consumers, particularly those who experience discomfort after consuming regular milk.

By making milk easier to digest, the product encourages consumers to return to regular milk consumption while maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.

With the launch of DANO Lacto Reduced Filled Milk Powder, Arla Foods Bangladesh continues its mission to provide safe, high-quality, affordable, and accessible dairy nutrition, ensuring that more people across Bangladesh can enjoy the health benefits of milk comfortably and confidently.

Denmark’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Christian Brix Møller, stated, “Denmark and Bangladesh share a strong and long-standing partnership built on trade, development, and shared values. Arla Foods represents the Danish commitment to quality, responsibility, and innovation in action. Initiatives such as this product launch demonstrate how Danish expertise contributes positively to nutrition and sustainable development in Bangladesh.”

The official launch ceremony was held on 29 April 2026 at the Arla Foods Bangladesh Limited head office.

The event was attended by Christian Brix Møller, Denmark’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Nuria Lopez, Chairperson of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, alongside senior officials from Arla Foods Bangladesh.
