Beyti to invest US$175.8M for FY 2025-2027

The company provides around 6,000 direct jobs and 19,000 indirect jobs, exports to more than 45 countries, and sources 67% of its raw and packaging materials locally.

EGYPT – Beyti has invested more than US$141.4 million (EGP 7 billion) and plans to invest US$175.8 million (EGP 8.7 billion) for 2025-2027, the company announced, highlighting its contribution to local manufacturing, employment, and sustainable economic development.

Government officials announced the figures while highlighting the importance of sustainable manufacturing and environmental and social responsibility in the food and beverage sector.

This took place during an awareness session organised by Beyti, an Almarai subsidiary, titled “From Ambition to Impact: Beyti’s Leadership in Embedding Environmental and Social Sustainability Standards”.

Discussions focused on national frameworks for sustainable manufacturing in the food and beverage sector and the role of private-sector partnerships in promoting sustainable innovation in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

“Sustainability is embedded in how we run our business and how we create value,” Abboud said, adding that the company’s “Doing Better Every Day” strategy focuses on people, environmental protection and product safety.

He noted that applying sustainability standards was only the starting point, with the ultimate objective of achieving measurable impact through clear targets, practical measures, and effective partnerships.

Beyti has pursued several initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. In 2020, the company began partially switching to natural gas, targeting a 30% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

In 2021, it invested in a 7.6-megawatt solar power plant, which the company describes as the largest grid-connected solar power plant in Egypt’s food and beverage sector.

The plant supplies around 20% of the factory’s energy needs, with the company targeting an increase in this share to 30% by 2028.

As part of its circular economy efforts, Beyti joined the Egyptian Used Beverage Carton (UBC) Pact during COP27 and supported the nationwide “Dawar El 3elba Tdorlak” campaign to encourage carton recycling.

Since 2022, the company has prevented approximately 290 tonnes of plastic waste annually and recycles around 25,000 tonnes of secondary packaging cartons each year.

Looking ahead, Beyti’s 2030 sustainability vision targets a 25% reduction in its carbon footprint, a 20% improvement in resource efficiency, zero waste sent to landfills, and 100% recyclable packaging.
