PAKISTAN – FrieslandCampina Engro has announced the deployment of a 450 kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system integrated with a 255 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its Nara Dairy Farm facility.
Awarded to DSG Energy, the project represents a strategic investment in clean energy infrastructure that will strengthen the plant’s energy resilience, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the company’s transition toward a lower-carbon future.
By combining on-site solar generation with advanced battery energy storage, the project is designed to optimize renewable energy consumption, reduce reliance on conventional fuel-based power generation, lower energy costs, and ensure a more reliable and resilient power supply for critical farm operations.
Kashan Hasan, CEO and Managing Director of the company, said, “This installation represents the futuristic, energy-conscious mindset that guides us at FCEPL. We are eager to expand our solar footprint further, which now includes our production facilities as well as our dairy farm.
“Our efforts to bring clean energy into our operations truly reflects our purpose of Nourishing Pakistan through-out the Grass to Glass journey, ensuring that we continue to care for our environment and communities whilst providing safe, healthy and nutritious products to the millions of families who consume our products everyday.”
The partnership reflects a growing shift in Pakistan’s industrial and agricultural landscape, where businesses are increasingly looking beyond conventional solar installations toward integrated energy systems combining renewable generation, storage and intelligent energy management.
This initiative also reinforces FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan’s commitment to environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and the adoption of innovative technologies that support long-term sustainable growth.
The Nara Dairy Farm Solar PV and BESS project reflects FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan’s broader vision of integrating renewable energy solutions across its operations while contributing to Pakistan’s clean energy transition and advancing its corporate sustainability objectives.
Recently, FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) partnered with Citi Pakistan through the Citi® Supplier Finance digital platform for its suppliers, reinforcing a shared commitment to strengthening supplier relationships and enhancing supply chain resilience.
The program aims to strengthen FCEPL’s supplier relationships by enabling them to receive early payments while allowing the company to maintain its agreed payment terms.
This supports bilateral working capital strategy without impacting cash flow throughout the transition period.
The initiative taken by the FCEPL team truly ensures that their Grass to Glass journey creates a robust environment for every stakeholder operating within their eco-system.
