Daniela Schlüter appointed as member of FrieslandCampina Cooperative Board
The German dairy farmer will join the Cooperative Board on 15 December 2026 and, from that date, will also become a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V.
GERMANY – Daniela Schlüter has been appointed as a new member of the FrieslandCampina Cooperative Board and Supervisory Board, following a binding nomination by the Chairmen’s meeting.
With the appointment of Daniela Schlüter, the composition of the Board will better reflect the diversity of the cooperative’s membership.
At the same time, the number of members in Germany continues to grow steadily, while FrieslandCampina is further strengthening its position as a Northwest European cooperative.
Since 2015, Daniela Schlüter has managed the family dairy farm in Südlohn, Germany. The farm is home to approximately 220 dairy cows and 135 young stock.
In addition to her farming activities, she brings an international background in both academia and the arts.
She served for many years as a professor at the University of Alberta in Canada and previously worked in the United States and Germany.
Since returning to Germany in 2015, she has combined her international experience with entrepreneurship on her dairy farm.
Sybren Attema, Chair of the Board of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. said: “With Daniela Schlüter, we are welcoming someone to the Board who brings a distinctive perspective to our cooperative. She has first-hand experience of running a dairy farm, while also having spent many years building an international career outside the dairy sector.
”That combination will bring fresh insights to our discussions and decision-making. At the same time, I believe it is important that our Board reflects the diversity of our cooperative. It is positive to see as many countries and regions from across our operating area represented as possible within the Board.”
Following her appointment by the Members’ Council, Daniela Schlüter will begin her onboarding period.
On 15 December 2026, she will formally join the Board of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. and will also become a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V.
As previously announced on 16 June 2026, Sybren Attema will step down as Chair of both the Supervisory Board of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. and the Board of Zuivelcoöperatie FrieslandCampina U.A. with effect from 15 December 2026.
The chairmanship of the dairy cooperative will then be transferred to Nils den Besten.
From 15 December 2026, the Cooperative Board will consist of eight members, while the Supervisory Board will comprise twelve members: the eight members of the Cooperative Board and four independent Supervisory Board members.
