Brian Kiplangat honoured as Youth Dairy Champion / Entrepreneur of the Year at Africa Dairy Industry Awards 2026

KENYA – Brian Kiplangat, a dynamic young dairy entrepreneur and consultant, has been recognised as Youth Dairy Champion / Entrepreneur of the Year at the Africa Dairy Industry Awards 2026.

The accolade was presented during a ceremony co-located with the Africa Dairy Innovation Summit on 17 April 2026.

The recognition of Brian Kiplangat as Youth Dairy Champion / Entrepreneur of the Year at the Africa Dairy Industry Awards 2026 highlights his outstanding leadership in advancing dairy value addition, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation within Kenya’s dairy sector.

Brian Kiplangat is self-employed with over five years of experience in the food industry. He serves as a Technical Sales Manager specialising in food specialty ingredients, product development, dairy business development, and dairy consultancy.

A graduate of Chuka University, he brings hands-on expertise in dairy processing and management, food quality control, and leadership mentorship.

His work focuses on empowering smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and young entrepreneurs to move beyond raw milk production into higher-value processing and market opportunities.

Through his consultancy and entrepreneurial initiatives, Brian has supported dairy value chain actors in developing innovative, market-ready products, including fermented dairy items such as modernised Mursik, yoghurt, and other value-added lines.

His efforts help small-scale processors improve quality, efficiency, and profitability while creating employment and income opportunities for rural youth and women.

Key contributions during his rising career include delivering training programmes for dairy cooperatives and youth groups, promoting best practices in safe milk handling and processing, and fostering strategic partnerships that enhance farmer access to markets, technical inputs, and sustainable business models.

He has actively championed dairy entrepreneurship as a viable pathway for the next generation, aligning his work with goals of inclusivity, resilience, and economic empowerment in Kenya’s dairy sector.

Brian Kiplangat maintains a strong focus on operational excellence, technology adoption for quality assurance, and community-driven innovation.

His passion for dairy value addition continues to inspire young people to build viable agribusinesses amid evolving market demands and climate challenges.
