Danone USA recalls ice cream due to potential presence of foreign material

The company emphasized that the move is precautionary, aimed at safeguarding consumer health and maintaining trust in its brands.

USA – Danone USA has voluntarily recalled its So Delicious Dairy Free® Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints due to the potential presence of foreign materials, such as small stones and other hard objects, within the cashew inclusions.

This issue and recall is only isolated to the Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pint item with the indicated best-by dates and codes, as summarized in the table below. No other So Delicious Dairy Free® codes, flavors, or products are impacted.

The pints of So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert, which were sold at retail stores nationwide, have multiple best-by expiration dates before 08 Aug 2027. The product has been removed from store shelves.

This voluntary recall was initiated on December 15, 2025. The FDA was informed of this voluntary recall and So Delicious Dairy Free® is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the potentially impacted product from shelves.

In the meantime, the company has already identified and corrected this issue and will soon be able to bring back the frozen dessert.

Blue Bell recalls ice cream due to packaging error

Concurrently, Blue Bell Creameries, an ice cream manufacturer, recalled a limited quantity of ice creams falsely packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cartons with Moo-llennium Crunch lids.

The recalled product was mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream cartons with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid. Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, walnuts, and pecans are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The affected product, produced at the company’s Brenham, US, plant, contains almonds, walnuts, and pecans. The company said no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported so far.

“No other incorrect packaging has been discovered or reported to date. Consumers who have purchased these items can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund,” says the company.

The mislabeled products were distributed through retailers across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Southwest Virginia.

The half gallons can be identified as Moo-llennium Crunch Ice Cream, packaged in a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough half-gallon carton with a Moo-llennium Crunch lid, and bearing the following code on the top of the half-gallon lid: 061027524.
